Dave Belliveau, CISSP, C|CISO

Principal Consultant, Mohawk Communications

Dave Belliveau is an accomplished cybersecurity leader and risk strategist with more than 25 years of enterprise IT experience. As Principal Consultant at Mohawk Communications, he specializes in healthcare compliance, technical risk management, and federal security frameworks, helping organizations protect critical infrastructure and navigate demanding regulatory requirements.

An IT Director since 2000, Dave combines decades of infrastructure leadership with credentials as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C|CISO). He connects complex compliance obligations to practical, secure technical execution.

Through Mohawk Communications, Dave offers Security Snapshots: rapid, focused assessments that identify technical gaps, review policies, and provide actionable visibility into an organization's current risk profile without the extended timeline of a conventional audit.

His background includes nearly a decade as an IT Director and HIPAA Security Officer, safeguarding electronic protected health information (ePHI). He has designed NIST-based compliance programs, developed threat-detection infrastructure, and led gap assessments that cleared external audits with zero major findings. His experience also includes U.S. Government subcontractor security work under a Secret security clearance.

Today, Dave provides independent fractional and project-based advisory services, including Security Snapshots, security assessment reports (SAR), plans of action and milestones (POA&M), and incident response planning for healthcare, commercial, and federal regulatory environments.
